Buddy” project
Expirience designer Anna Kersig used our MakerCube and one of our 3D printers to develop prototypes of a palm-sized object made of silicone that mimics a natural breathing rhythm by alternately expanding and contracting.
Just as your chest rises and falls when you breathe, your “BUDDYS” move in your hand. This should help you regain control over your feelings.
“I was looking for an open workshop for my master’s thesis in the field of social product design and luckily came across the Kiel FabLab and the MakerCubes. The many manufacturing possibilities are a science in themselves, but with the patience, tips and encouragement of the team, everything worked out great. I think it’s great and important that this place is accessible to everyone.”
