On June 6, Kiel University once again hosted the Innovation and Transfer Day at the Science Center. As in the previous year, MakerCube was represented with a stand alongside numerous regional initiatives and start-ups. Our employees presented several prototypes on site from projects that were created as part of the CAU’s validation fund with the support of FabLab Kiel and the MakerCube initiative. Among the exhibits on display was the Falcon-B, an improved magnetic field system for benchtop NMR instruments that allows 360° rotation for ease of use, moves samples quickly and facilitates the study of spin physics. Visitors were also able to marvel at 3D-printed structures of bone implants under the microscope. We have supported a total of 15 validation fund projects from the fields of medicine, physics or agricultural and nutritional science in the development of prototypes.
