3D scan of an anatomical model

An exciting project that we were recently able to support is a new type of anatomical model by Roman Tashakkori, which can be understood as a virtualization of the human body in 3D.

Compared to other models, it has the advantage that you can interact with it. For example, you can virtually lift your heel, whereby the leg muscles are also deformed, just like in real people.

The collaboration with us resulted from Roman’s need to illustrate a before and after picture of an arthritic hip with a subsequently fitted hip prosthesis. To do this, we 3D scanned the prosthesis in our FabLab.

You can read more about this in the October issue of the UKSH magazine “forum” on the subject of “Minimally invasive techniques”.
