MySpirulina cultivates the future of nutrition

The Kiel-based start-up MySpirulina is working on an innovative method for integrating the microalgae spirulina as a food. This project will be realized by using an intelligent glass attachment developed in collaboration with us, which will enable the cultivation of the algae in your own home.

As part of the validation fund of Kiel University, we actively supported MySpirulina in the development of its first prototypes as part of the MakerCube initiative. Our focus was on imparting specialist knowledge and providing our FDM carbon 3D printer. From the integration of the electronics to creative brainstorming sessions, we accompanied MySpirulina on its way to realizing a convincing prototype and the planned series-ready product in the injection moulding process.
